Clear Mountain Bank is excited to announce that it has entered into a partnership with Zogo, a leading financial technology company, to provide financial education through Zogo’s financial literacy app to the communities it serves. The bank is launching the program to Preston High School students as part of their financial literacy curriculum.

Zogo is a gamified financial literacy app that rewards users for completing bite-sized financial lessons on intelligently saving, spending, and managing their money. The app includes nearly 400 modules in 22 different topics, from opening a bank account, using credit responsibly, creating a budget, saving for retirement – and everything in between.

“As a forward-thinking and locally-focused community bank, we are excited to launch this project with Preston High School as a fun, accessible, and efficient way to teach students valuable life lessons on a variety of financial topics that will serve them well as they enter adulthood and beyond,” states David M. Thomas, president and CEO of Clear Mountain Bank.

By completing modules, taking interactive five-question quizzes, and participating in daily trivia games, users earn virtual “pineapples” and work toward real-life rewards – like gift cards to their favorite stores, including Starbucks, Amazon, Target, Sephora, and more!

“Preston High School is excited to partner with Clear Mountain Bank to help students learn more about finances. We will use this program as a supplement in some of our classes such as Personal Finance & Financial Algebra, but the app will be available to all students and teachers. The Zogo app is one way we are trying to make learning more fun and engaging,” said Todd Seymour, principal at Preston High School. “As a teenager, I didn’t really have a concept of money. Today’s teens have a great need to know how to manage money and we believe the Zogo app will help with that,” he added.

“Growing up, we didn’t have good experiences learning finance,” added Bolin Li, CEO, and co-founder of Zogo. “With Zogo, we wanted to create a financial education experience our peers would actually use. We are excited to partner with Clear Mountain Bank to bring this vision to life.”

Clear Mountain Bank is a locally owned and managed community bank that has been serving North Central West Virginia and western Maryland for more than 125 years. The bank provides a comprehensive array of digital and traditional banking products and services to meet the needs of its personal, business, commercial, mortgage and financial planning customers.

The bank was recently named as one of the nation’s Best Banks to Work For by American Banker and Best Companies Group.
